Cathy Blakeney
Cathy Blakeney | Committee Chair
Cathy Blakeney has been a resident of Stone Mountain and DeKalb County since 1995. Ms. Blakeney graduated high school in Prince George’s County Maryland and is an alumnus of North Carolina Central University in Durham North Carolina earning a Bachelor’s of Arts in Business Administration concentration in Finance. She also earned a Master’s of Arts Degree in Organizational Management from the University of Phoenix.
Ms. Blakeney is employed by the State of Georgia as a Business Analyst. She has two children, one a graduate of Stephenson High School and the other a current junior at Stephenson High School. She has extensive experience in finance, accounting, project management and business administration. She holds and has held several leadership roles within community. Ms. Blakeney is looking forward to being an active member of the oversight committee and making another effective contribution to the community, with special focus on the education of the children in DeKalb County.
Ms. Blakeney’s neighborhood is in the Stephenson High School Cluster, Academic Region 3 and Board District 6.
Robert D. Little II
Robert D. Little II
Robert D. Little II is a proud product of the Southern area of DeKalb County School District, where he excelled as a head drum major and varsity wrestler throughout his tenure. Mr. Little graduated from Florida A&M University with a Bachelor of Science in Business Education and earned a Master of Business Administration, with a concentration in corporate finance from Washington University in St. Louis.
Mr. Little has built a strong professional background in commercial real estate investment finance, with prior investment banking and brokerage roles focused on various institutional real estate asset classes. Currently, Mr. Little manages the investment management and financial reporting functions of a technology-oriented real estate portfolio for a multi-national real estate investment trust.
Mr. Little is inspired to lend his time, talents and resources to aid the delivery of the absolute best educational experience possible to the students of Dekalb County. Throughout his professional journey, Mr. Little has maintained consistent civic engagement serving in various volunteer leadership roles, including but not limited to serving as the Treasurer of a St. Louis, MO charter school board, the CFO for 100 Black Men of Metropolitan St. Louis, and the VP of Operations for 100 Black Men Tampa Bay, Inc.
Mr. Little has one daughter currently attending middle school in Academic Region V and is a resident in the Martin Luther King, Jr. High School cluster, Board District 5.
Kimberly Crayton
Kimberly Crayton
Ms. Crayton is a proud graduate of the Dekalb County School System and has lived in Dekalb County for over 35 years. Ms. Crayton has earned a Masters in Business Administration from Western Governors University and has over 20 years’ experience in project management, real estate and finance. While working in real estate, Ms. Crayton was appointed to serve on the Agent Leadership Council, the governing board, for Keller Williams Realty Northeast office for five years. She worked with the Business Operating Partner and Broker to ensure office productivity, profit and growth. Ms. Crayton also served three years on the Regional Agent Leadership Council for Keller Williams Realty in the southeast region. Ms. Crayton is currently employed as a Project Manager with Bank of America.
Although Ms. Crayton holds several leadership positions in the community, she believes serving is the greatest form of leadership and uses her experience and expertise to serve our community.
Ms. Crayton has two sons who are presently attending high school and middle school in the Dekalb County School System. Ms. Crayton’s neighborhood is in the Stephenson High School cluster, Academic Region 3 and Board District 6.
Daniel Walker
Daniel Walker
Despite being a native of southern California, Daniel Walker has held deep roots in metro Atlanta since 1997. In 1999, Daniel graduated from American InterContinental University with a Master’s degree in Information Technology. He is currently enrolled in the WebMBA Program co-hosted by Kennesaw State University.
Daniel works for SunTrust Banks (now Truist) as a Database Administrator, a position he has held for over eight years. He is a charter member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., Rho Kappa Lambda Chapter, based in Gwinnett County. He also serves on the Advisory Board for Discovery High School and is an active volunteer at St. Thomas More Catholic School. Daniel has been married to his wife, Scarlett, for over 15 years. The Walkers live in Decatur with their two sons, Justin Gibson and Jackson Walker.
Lisa A. Wright
Lisa A. Wright
Lisa A. Wright graduated Cum Laude from Rowan University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration specializing in Accounting. She has over 20 years of not for profit and for profit accounting experience. Throughout her tenure, Ms. Wright has effectively contributed to accurate and responsible financial reporting for highly-notarized clients such as Herman J. Russell Sr. of H.J Russell & Company and New Birth Missionary Baptist Church in Lithonia, GA. Currently, Ms. Wright successfully practices as a CPA with her own accounting and business advisory firm, L.A Wright and Associates, LLC., while simultaneously serving as Treasurer for Georgia Production Partnership – managing potential and actual tax incentives that help to promote the film and television industry in Georgia.
Ms. Wright has been a resident of Lithonia, GA since 1999 and has proactively engaged in many local organizations during her residency.
Lavetrice “L.J” Jordan
Lavetrice “L.J” Jordan
Lavetrice Jordan is a DeKalb County School System graduate. She is, also, the proud parent of a DeKalb County School District graduate with three additional children currently learning in DeKalb. Lavetrice holds a BS in Healthcare Management from Clayton State University and an MBA from Capella University. She has over 13 years of work experience in State government including – however, not limited to – Human Resources, Accounting, and Compliance (Vendor Management and Auditing).
Lavetrice sought this opportunity to use her developed and well-enhanced skills to give back to the DeKalb community.
Sabrinna McTier
Sabrinna McTier
Sabrinna McTier has been a resident of DeKalb County since 2006 after relocating from Los Angeles, California. She is an alumnus of the Haas School of Business at the University of California, Berkeley earning a Bachelor’s of Science in Business Administration. She also earned her Masters of Science degree in Accounting from the University of Connecticut. Ms. McTier is a licensed certified public accountant and certified government financial manager with over 22 years of comprehensive accounting, auditing, consulting and business management experience in public and private sectors.
Ms. McTier is employed by Fulton County Government and serves as the Finance department’s Controller. She is also the Chief Executive Officer of Cogent Unlimited, LLC, a boutique professional services firm. In addition, she is very active in her community and has held leadership and board positions in several civic and professional organizations. She is excited to utilize her skillset and experiences to serve on this committee and believes in the following business tenets: effectiveness, efficiency, transparency and accountability.
She is the mother of two children who have attended DeKalb County schools. Her youngest attends DeKalb School of the Arts.
E-SPLOST Advisory Committee Call for Candidates
The DeKalb County School District (DCSD) invites all community members to take part in one of the most important parts of education: tax dollar spending.
The public is invited to apply for membership on the E-SPLOST (Education Special-Purpose Local Option Sales Tax) Advisory Committee. Applications can be submitted online until Monday, September 20, 2021.
The E-SPLOST Advisory Committee provides citizen input, oversight, and review of a voter-approved project list paid for with E-SPLOST revenue. The committee consists of members of the public who share the common goal of maintaining transparency and communication from DCSD to the DeKalb County community.
Candidates must be residents that live in DCSD boundaries. Members may not be DeKalb County Board of Education members, DCSD employees, or have any economic interest in DCSD projects. Experience in accounting, architecture, auditing, construction, engineering, finance, K-12 education, law, planning, project management, and/or real estate is desired.
In addition, candidates must be able to provide two hours to attending monthly meetings. These meetings typically take place in the evening. If selected, members must also pass a background check and sign a non-disclosure agreement.
